How to cook noodles

There are two types of ramen noodles

Dried Noodles – 

Easiest way to get dry ramen noodle is to buy a pack of ramen noodle and remove the soup base. Use only dry noodle. (save the soup pouch for later use).  The dry noodles usually soak about 200ml ~ 250ml water when cooked with water. Dried noodles and ramen soup should be cooked together.  

Fresh Ramen Noodles – 

Fresh ramen noodles are used at restaurant and they can be purchased at the oriental grocery stores. As noodles are coated with starch, it needs to be boiled and cooked by itself to rinse it off. Cook with plenty of water and drain then combine with the reconstituted ramen soup. Fresh ramen noodles and ramen soup base should be cooked separately.

Cooking Instruction

Ramen with Dry Noodles Instruction (1 serving)

1. Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a pot. 

2. Add dry noodles into the pot, breaking up as soften.

3. Cook for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. 

4. Remove from heat. Add 2 Tablespoons of ramen soup base, stir it well. 

5. Transfer into the serving bowl. Add garnishes as desired. 

Ramen with Fresh Noodles Instruction

1. Boil 4 cups (840ml) of water in a large pot 

2. Add the noodles into the pot with boiled water and cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Stir occasionally. 

3. Combine 1 1/4 cup (300ml) hot water and 2 Tablespoons of ramen soup base into the serving bowl, stir well 

4.  When noodles are done, drain and combine in the serving bowl

5. Add garnishes as desired.
